Learning to dive and extending your experience

We are a branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club, the oldest and largest scuba club in the world. Find out about BSAC diver grades on the website, here.


We welcome beginners and can arrange a "Try Dive" to see if diving is for you.

Beginners

You will start on the Ocean Diver course which will enable you to dive to 20 metres.

With our team of nationally qualified instructors we schedule the lessons to suit your availability and circumstances.
We have club scuba equipment available for pool training when you start the ocean diver course.

 

Progression

Within the branch you can progress to Sport Diver, Dive Leader and then to Advanced Diver.

Sport Divers are qualified to extend their depth range to 35 metres, and do planned decompression dives.

Dive Leaders may extend their depth range, take novice divers on open water dives, manage club dives on behalf of the diving officer.

Advanced Diver is the highest grade you can train to within the branch, with assistance from the BSAC South East Region. 

In addition to the diver grades, skill development courses are also available through the club or the region.
